A Birder's Guide to Alaska
Updated September 2008
The second fully revised and enlarged edition of the Birder's Guide to Alaska is now available at ABA Sales. Call them at 1-800-634-7736. The full retail list price of this edition of the guide is $32.95 for 662 pages of information but you should receive a discount if you are an ABA member.

Corrections to the 2008 edition of the Guide:
Carol Griswold from Seward reported the following errors:

p 286: last line, delete 2007.

p 290: third paragraph, "boundary" is misspelled

p 291: directions are not quite accurate. After "Return to Nash Road and
turn right (east) on Jellison Avenue by the oil storage tanks." INSERT:
"then turn right at the second right (0.3 mile)." From there it's OK, "At
the T intersection, turn right..."

p 295: Funny misinterpretation of draft. "Drive south on Fourth and turn
left onto Ballaine to follow Shore Park Walk along the one-mile-long
greenbelt/bike path." This should be: "Drive south on Fourth and turn
left on Ballaine to follow THE shore. Park and walk along the etc."

p 295 Yellow-throated should be YELLOW-BILLED loons.
During the fall and winter of 2007-2008, we revised and updated the Birder's Guide to Alaska. There are many changes. Two chapters have been replaced by four new ones. Below is the table of contents. The Annotated List is greatly expanded to include all the new species and sightings since 2002 through summer of 2008.
